COURSE DESIGN (1) Perspectives of knowledge and understanding (2) Perspectives of thinking and judgment (3) Perspectives of interests and motivation (4) Perspective of attitude EVALUATION METHOD Yamaguchi University has organized action verbs that express attainment goals; examples by perspective are shown as follows: For each course, set the attainment goals from multiple perspectives according to the learning item that is covered by the course and add descriptions using action verbs indicated in the examples above. General goals of the courses should be described in a way to cover these attainment goals. After setting the attainment goals, decide the evaluation methods according to these attainment goals. Among the attainment goals, attainment goals from (1) Perspectives of Knowledge and Understanding and (2) Perspectives of Thinking and Judgment belong to the Cognitive Domain in the classification in Figure 4-3. According to Bloom, education goals belonging to the Cognitive Domain can be measured with examinations, etc. (Figure 4-1). These attainment goals belong to performance goals in Kajita’s goal type (Figure 4-2) and the attainment level will be confirmed by whether or not the goals have been able to be followed as prescribed goals. Among the attainment goals, attainment goals from (3) Perspectives of Interests and Motivation and (4) Perspective of Attitude belong to the Affective Domain in the classification in Figure 4-3. According to Bloom, education goals belonging to the Affective Domain are difficult to evaluate (Figure 4-1) but evaluations will be conducted by observing students’ participation in discussions and their contribution and cooperation in the group work. In evaluation, rubric evaluations can be incorporated (see the column article). Attainment goals from (5) Perspectives of Skills and Expression belong to the Psychomotor Domain in the classification in Figure 4-3. According to Bloom, education goals belonging to the Psychomotor Domain can be evaluated through the observation of learning behavior and
